I would like to congratulate you on the 20th anniversary and wish you progress and development. It is our pleasure to state the fact that relations of Israeli and the world Jews have turned into more interesting and business like connections and is a great success which is reflected in cooperation in all walks of life.
The choice made by Georgia to head towards the West and introduction of democratic values has contributed to the fact that today Georgia is a sovereign nation enjoying full support of the international community. The liberal economic reforms carried out in the country, tax reduction and announcement of free trade zones have helped to create the most favorable environment for investments.
Georgia is a Israeli’s partner country in many ways. We can learn many things using Georgian experience. The Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business is an example of successful economic relations between these two countries. It carried out many interesting investment projects and has ample business and economic potential.
I wish the Embassy of Israel and the Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business together with the government of Georgia to victoriously march towards establishment closer ties between two nations.
Minister of Absorption of Repatriation
Sofa Landver
Dear Friends,
I am very happy to mark the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this productive enterprise. As the Minister of Immigrant Absorption of the State of Israel, I see a great deal of symbolism in the facts that not only are you marking your own anniversary; this year we also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the "Great Wave" of immigration from the former Soviet Union. This massive influx of immigrants changed the face of the State of Israel in every way, including, of course, economically. During these twenty years, the State of Israel has made tremendous strides and become one of the world's most developed countries, joining the exclusive club of the most economically advanced nations.
I have no doubt that the Chamber of Business's contribution to this process is invaluable. The commercial ties between our countries stimulated development, and created bonds of friendship that have been ongoing for many years; our commercial ties contribute to the economic strength of the Georgian immigrant community in Israel. This community contributes significantly to the development of every aspect of life and society in Israel, and to the advancement of relations between Israel and Georgia.
I wish the Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business every success in your endeavors on behalf of our countries, and especially on behalf of the bonds between us.
With best wishes for a happy New Year.
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia
Vera Kobalia
I would like to heartily congratulate official representatives and organizations of Israel with 20th anniversary. I am very pleased to be part of this celebration. I would like to stress that these 20 years have been of significant success and contribution and I would like to wish you further success.
We all gladly acknowledge that relations between our countries and nation have long surpassed cultural boundaries and now contribute to strengthening and development of economic cooperation, fostering business-ties and facilitate joint projects. This cooperation while already developed, still has huge potential to grow; especially that we can offer our partners excellent conditions for doing business, with business friendly environment, favorable tax and trade regimes. We can also benefit tremendously from more Israeli business in Georgia: experience, technology and know-how – something that Israeli companies deservedly take credit for internationally.
In this light, I am very pleased that our Ministry is actively cooperating with the Government of Israel and now Georgian-Israeli Chamber of Business. I am confident that this cooperation is of mutual benefit and represents an excellent ground for greater future success.
Ambassador of Israel
Itzhak Gerberg
It gives me great pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations to the Representative Office of the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) in Georgia on its 20th anniversary. The JAFI is involved in developing relationship between the State of Israel and the World Jewry and has been proudly engaged in the Jewish return to its historical homeland, as strong Jewish present and future requires strong Israel.
The Jewish community in Georgia has traditionally enjoyed close and warm relationship with Georgian people that can be traced back to the destruction of the first Temple in Jerusalem almost 2600 years ago.
The deeply rooted friendly relationship between the Georgian and Jewish nation goes on until today and is demonstrated, among others, by the economic relations between our two countries. A significant and constant contributor to the promotion of the economic relations is Israel Georgia Chamber of Business in Tbilisi.
I wish the Representation Office of the Jewish Agency for Israel in Georgia (JAFI) as well as the Israeli Georgian Chamber of Business success in their future activities, which I am sure will continue to strengthen the excellent and friendly relations between Georgia and Israel.
The President,
Federation of Israeli
Chambers of Commerce
Uriel Lynn
The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce highly regards the long-standing relationship of trade exchange and business activities it has with Georgia.
Georgia and Israel have been traditional partners for the last 20 years, supporting Georgian and Israeli businesspeople to enhance their bilateral trade interests and opportunities.
The FICC has special interest in Georgia both from the potential of increasing the bilateral trade as well as Georgia's economic role in its region, and we look at our cooperation with the Georgia - Israel Chamber of Business as a significant element in strengthening mutual collaboration to further promote the trade endeavours of companies who seek business opportunities.
It is with great pleasure that I have learnt of the forthcoming visit of Ms. Vera Kobalia, Minister of Economy, to Israel on 18-19 October, 2010.
We are certain that this visit to Israel will witness Georgia’s and Israel’s challenges and activities and will enhance the bilateral trade and economic relations between our two countries and business communities.
With joint efforts, I hope that both countries would be able to increase the trade volume to leavel that were before the world economic crisis and even better.
Ambassador of Georgia
Vakhtang Jaoshvili
I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate you on today’s date.
Israel was one of the first countries which established diplomatic relations with Georgia. And twenty years ago the Jewish Agency and other public organizations of Israel started operating in Georgia. Today’s fruitful relations between two nations largely owe to these organizations and to their every representative. Therefore, I would like to congratulate them on the twenty years anniversary. At the same time it is obvious to everybody that their activity was fostered and enhanced by the 26 century history of coexistence of our two peoples.
Relations between the Georgian and the Jewish people both in terms of their length and content do not have match in entire history of humankind. We – the Georgians are proud that the Jews made indelible impact on the making and strengthening process of the Georgian nation. And today they with same success work for the prosperity of the Israeli state for its further strengthening and development. At the same time our Georgian Jews do not forget their second homeland and they represent a human bridge between Georgia and Israel.
Today Israel is one of the largest investors in Georgia and the mentioned data is permanently increasing due to activity of Georgia Israeli Business Chamber as well. Relations in various areas are being developed dynamically between two nations.
I am deeply convinced that through our joint efforts we will be able to bring the relations between Georgia and Israel to a qualitatively new level.
Mayor of Jerusalem
Nir Barkat
Dear Friends,
It is my privilege and honor to congratulate you on the Israeli Week in Tbilisi that will be held from 2nd to 9th of September, 2010.
The relations between Jerusalem and Tbilisi, Israel and Georgia, are important for us here in Jerusalem, and our wish is for them to grow stronger and deeper from one year to another! The cooperation between the Jerusalem Municipality and Georgia on the issues of culture and tourism gives us much pride. We were honored to host here many Georgian artists including Ia Chantladze last year and Sofia Nijharadze just last month.
Although I will not be with you in the event, I know that Jerusalem City Council Member Hilik Bar will represent Jerusalem and its people in the most proper way with his attendance.
I wish you all the success, and send you warm regards from our beautiful Jerusalem!
Mayor of Tbilisi
Gigi Ugulava
Georgia and Israel have been bound by friendship of many centuries. I am glad that business relations have been established between our nations over the last few years. Investments have been attracted to Georgia and respectively various interesting projects have been implemented.
We welcome fact that all these has been initiated and supported by the Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business the activity of which comprises different areas and the majority of these projects are being carried out in Tbilisi.
The city leadership does its best to make Tbilisi - with its stabile political and economic situation – more attractive and interesting place for investors. That is why we have implemented liberal economic reform, reduced taxes and abolished bureaucratic barriers.
I would like to hail the twenty years involvement of Israeli official representatives and organizations in Georgia and wish them progress and success.
I thank every individual who personally contributed to the deepening of friendly and business relations between Georgia and Israel.
I hope we will be able achieve our goals together.
