Memorandum on cooperation between businesspersons has been adopted. The 7-point document has been signed in Sheraton Metekhi Palace hotel. Nine organizations including Israel-Georgia chamber of business, the Georgian and the US Trade Chambers, the Union of Oil Products Exporters and six other organizations have signed the memorandum.
A decision has been achieved at the meeting that an informal union of businesspersons will be created for resolving the existing problems. The union will take care of improving the investment environment in the country and hold permanent consultations with the Georgian government.
Nika Gilauri, the Georgian Prime Minister attended the meeting. He said resolving the internal political problems will assist increasing economic activities and attracting investments in the country that will finally assist the citizens` employment and welfare.
Businesspersons participating in the meeting said the current events and the unstable situation affect development of the business and obstruct the investment environment in the country, although Georgia still remains very attractive and a lot of private businesspersons or companies express desire to enter the country. |
